As a Marketing Copywriter / Content Creator at Oddball Marketing, you will play an important operational role within our expanding Marketing team, based at our West Gosford head office on the beautiful Central Coast of New South Wales.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Copywriter who can skilfully research, write and edit original, targeted copy for our clients, with user engagement and search engine optimisation as the focus. Our clients come from a multitude of industries, so you will be responsible for creating quality content, messaging and managing communications for diverse audiences and businesses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write, edit and proofread all forms of website content with a focus on engagement & conversion
  • Write multiple SEO-optimised blog posts each week
  • Write multiple social media posts and manage client content calendars across different platforms
  • Craft branded copy for Oddball’s weekly marketing resources and newsletter to educate our audience
  • Ensure all content is produced in a timely manner and SEO optimised
  • Manage marketing content assets as required, including sales letters, email marketing copy, subject lines, brochures etc.
  • Brief our Designers and Social Media specialist on content, layout and suggested messaging concepts

Application Criteria

  • You have a degree and relevant experience in Communications or Digital Marketing, or a marketing role at another company
  • You have at least 3+ years of proven experience writing SEO-friendly content professionally for blogs, newsletters, scripts and understand how to tailor messaging across multiple social media platforms
  • You are creative, with a passion for copywriting, creating engaging content, and mastering the written word for different audiences
  • You tech-savvy and can easily navigate different content management systems, word processing software and editing tools
  • You’re an efficient worker and clear communicator in all situations, formats and professional settings
  • You have a smart sense of humour and know when to use it, but you’re never offensive, cynical or crass
  • You are deadline focused and have excellent priority management skills, calmly juggling multiple projects and tasks at once across shifting timelines

Search Engine Marketing Specialist

We Are Seeking Someone Experienced In The Web And Digital Industry Who Is Self-Motivating To Help Service Our Existing/New Clients Through Online Organic, PPC, SEM And SEO Campaigns.

You will be responsible for a broad range of activities, and will need to demonstrate experience and leadership in these:

Key Responsibilities

  • Research and implement search engine optimisation recommendations
  • Ensure the websites are constantly using the best search engine optimisation techniques and practices that ensure the sites receive top rankings with major search engines for their relevant keywords, and generate traffic and leads
  • Perform ongoing keyword discovery, expansion and optimisation
  • Work with the team to drive SEO in content creation and content programming
  • Recommend changes to website architecture, content, linking and other factors to improve SEO positions for target keywords
  • Assist in managing digital campaigns from planning to execution
  • Research and analyse competitor advertising links
  • Execute tests, collect and analyse data, identify trends and insights in order to achieve maximum ROI in paid search campaigns
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in the online marketing and search landscape, including tool recommendations, strategies, industry news, etc.
  • Re-marketing/Re-targeting/ Advanced dynamic creative strategies to assist with lead generation and branding

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline is (desirable but not essential)
  • Hands-on SEO and SEM experience in a fast paced environment, with strong focus on delivering outstanding results
  • Demonstrated digital campaign management experience
  • Solid understanding of performance marketing, conversion, and online customer acquisition
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with stakeholders on different levels
  • In-depth experience with website analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics, AdWords, NetInsight, etc.) including certifications (certifications preferred but not essential)
  • Strong link building and optimisation skills
  • The ability to plan out and work to a budget
  • Research and analyse competitor advertising links
  • Experience writing ad copy that is targeted with clear call-to-actions in order to increase CTR and conversion rate
