Full-Time / Digital Marketing
“I’m already managing four clients.”
This is Matt. He’s a real person. Not long ago, he was hired for the Oddball Graduate Program. He’s already managing four clients 😎
Ok, so you have your degree. Well done! But you didn’t grind through all those tutorials and lectures to make coffees, schedule meetings and resize logos.
You did it to think. To build things. To see your ideas work in the real world.
Well, you’ve come to the right place. Keep reading, because this is a rare opportunity.
The Oddball Graduate Program is a 12-month, full-time role for graduates who want more than “experience.”
It’s a paid position. It’s real work. And it’s designed to turn potential into momentum. With fun along the way.
Location: Central Coast (hybrid options available)
Start: Graduate intake cohort
Apply now. Or read on. You’ll want to.
Why This Program Exists
The goal isn’t experience for experience’s sake. We invest in grads because the future of the industry needs sharper thinkers, not more headcount.
So we don’t hire grads to make up the numbers. We hire grads because fresh thinkers ask better questions. Because early-career marketers don’t carry bad habits yet. Because the right graduate, given trust and responsibility, can grow fast into the type of marketer the industry needs.
That is, the type of marketer that will shape the industry.
This program exists to give you what most “entry-level” roles don’t.
Clarity. Responsibility. Feedback. A path forward.
You won’t be watching from the sidelines. You’ll be inside the work.
How the Program Works
The program runs for 12 months. It’s structured, but not stiff. Clear, but not rigid.
You’ll move through four development phases:
- Onboarding
You learn how Oddball thinks, plans, builds, and measures. - Training
You develop core skills across strategy, channels, and client work. - Client Exposure
You work on real accounts. With real budgets. From early on. - Progression
You take ownership. Then more of it.
By the end, you’re ready to specialise. And in an agency like Oddball, full of buzz and growth, the potential is limitless.
And did we mention you’ll have fun along the way?
What You’ll Actually Do
Work on Real Client Campaigns
From early in the program, you’ll be involved in live client work. Not mock briefs. Not internal-only exercises.
Real businesses. Real outcomes. Real accountability.
You’ll help build strategies, execute campaigns, analyse results, and present thinking. You’ll move from shadowing to owning. At a pace that challenges you without breaking you.
Contribute to Oddball’s Own Projects
We don’t just work for clients. We work on ourselves too.
You’ll contribute to internal campaigns, experiments, R&D, and ideas that shape where Oddball is heading next.
This is where curiosity pays off.
Learn Properly
Learning here is not a PDF and a “good luck.”
You’ll go through structured onboarding modules. You’ll develop rock-solid fundamentals across the full marketing spectrum – not just one channel in a silo. You’ll attend workshops built around real agency problems, not theory.
You’ll learn why things work. And why they don’t.
Get Mentoring That Actually Helps
You’ll have fortnightly one-on-ones with your manager. No ghosting or impersonal status updates.
You’ll get feedback early, often, and clearly. You’ll know where you’re doing well and where you need to sharpen up.
You’ll shadow. Then you’ll own.
Get Out of the Building
Marketing doesn’t happen in a vacuum.
You’ll attend networking events, industry sessions, and local business meetups. You’ll meet clients. People doing real work, like the copywriter writing this ad (hi 👋).
It changes how you think. Fast.
The Culture You’re Walking Into
Oddball is non-corporate. High-performance. People-first.
We’re a multi-channel agency, which means you won’t be boxed into one platform or one way of thinking.
Strategy, paid media, organic, search, content, websites. It all connects here.
We use the current technology because that’s the baseline. The real work is staying ahead of it—and that’s what we’re doing.
Testing new platforms. Adapting to changing algorithms. Building smarter systems. Asking “what’s next?” before it becomes obvious. There’s a constant push to be better, faster, and sharper than yesterday.
We take the work seriously. Not ourselves.
There are team lunches. Whiteboard debates. Slack chaos. The good kind.
There’s trust. Autonomy. And an expectation that you’ll speak up when you have something worth saying.
You won’t be micromanaged. You also won’t be invisible.
Who This Is For
This role is for you if you’ve recently graduated. Or you’re about to graduate.
We’re looking for degrees in:
- Marketing
- Business
- Commerce
- Communications
You don’t need agency experience.
You do need confidence, curiosity, and the ability to communicate clearly.
Bonus points if you bring:
- Strategic thinking
- Strong writing
- Digital fluency
- A solid individual uni assignment or campaign you’re proud of
You will be required to submit that work as part of your application.
Your First 12 Months at Oddball
- Months 1–3
Onboarding modules. Training. Shadowing live projects. - Months 4–6
You own your first client brief. With support. And expectations. - Months 7–9
Cross-team collaboration. Portfolio development. Sharper thinking. - Months 10–12
Role review. Specialisation path. Pay progression discussions.
There’s no guessing here. You’ll know what growth looks like and how to reach it.
Where This Leads
This is not a dead-end program.
At the end of 12 months, you’ll transition into a permanent role as a strategist, aligned to your strengths and interests.
Most grads don’t get that clarity this early. But, as you’ve probably determined so far, we do things a little differently around here.
What Past Grads Say
“The onboarding was thoughtful and super detailed. I learned how every channel works, but more importantly, why it works. I spent time with different team members across paid, organic, search, content, and strategy, and got to see how all of it actually connects in real client work.
That cross-channel exposure set me up properly. When it came time to contribute to strategy, tactics, and ideas for clients, I wasn’t guessing or copying. I understood the moving parts and how to bring them together.
The other surprise was how fun it is here. There’s pressure, but it’s the good kind. You’re trusted early, supported properly, and encouraged to think for yourself. I’ve learned more in a year than I expected to learn in several, and my skills have grown exponentially because of it.”
That’s Matt again. You might meet him one day. Sure, he’ll talk about fishing a bit, but you can be sure he’ll echo this statement. But then again, you’ll see it for yourself.
